My name is Barnaba I was born in Vicenza, Italy, at the age of 13 I have begun my artistic studies at the art gymnasium A.Martini(VI) where I was introduced to abstracts painting and informalism. At the age of 18, I traveled to Australia where I had the fortune to get in touch with the aboriginal culture and their traditional artistic representation, which has strongly influenced my style with its primitive, innocent, and purely communicative motive as opposed to the historical relationship that arts had over western cultures with the commission. After returning to Italy I had the chance to mature my style and artistic process during the four years I spent at the Fine Arts Academy of Venezia by confronting the world of contemporary arts and the Biennale. Today I am based in Copenhagen where I'm studying Business Economics & IT at KEA Copenhagen School of Design and Technology.
My abstract representations are the outcome of an organic self-generative process of creation, which is inspired by the shapes of nature and evokes a deep sensation of distant memories from a dreamlike parallel dimension, related to archetypal figures and logical shapes. In the making process of the painting through, a continuous repetition of the gesture I aim to reach an estrangement state from the present that creates a separation between the outcome of the opera and my intention upon it, in other words, the artwork create itself and the arm of the artist became just the vehicle, seemingly as the artwork had its own life, unbounded from the artist expressive necessities. The result is canvas with a strong hypnotic characteristic that drawn the viewer's attention to their dynamic and turbulent movement, deceiving his perception to see or imagine shapes and stories inside them.
